While interning at Iowa Public Television, I helped create promotions for Greetings from Iowa– a newly-created social media series. The series highlights people, arts, and culture in Iowa. My responsibilities included creating the promo by editing footage and adding graphics.

Working in TV news required me to think on my feet and work across different departments in order to meet hourly deadlines. I edited video that enhanced stories being told on live TV and social media.

Urban Plains

As a team leader at Urban Plains, I traveled across the Midwest seeking out what unique stories. I took these stories and created multimedia packages for social media and the website while also managing a team of four reporters. This publication was the senior capstone for Drake University’s journalism program.
